Get to know General Surgeon Dr. Patricia Souchon, who serves patients in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Dr. Souchon, a board-certified general surgeon, has more than a decade of experience in her field. She is currently affiliated with UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. In her professional experience, Dr. Souchon also serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of New Mexico, a public research university in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her acclaimed career in medicine began after she earned her medical degree from the Central University of Venezuela in 2004. Upon relocating to the United States, she went on to complete her internship in general surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, followed by her residency in general surgery at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. Patricia E. Souchon Sanchez, MD, FACS, attended the Central University of Venezuela, and received her medical degree in 2004. Upon relocating to the United States, she served her internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in Houston, TX (2011-2012). Furthermore, she conducted her general surgery residency (2012-2014), surgical critical care fellowship (2014-2015), and trauma surgery fellowship (2015-2016) at the University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine in Las Vegas, NV. In addition, Dr. Sanchez received board certification in general surgery (2014) and surgical critical care (2015) from the American Board of Surgery. She is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma as well as fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
